Roseanne Cancellation

After an ill-received tweet, Disney quickly their ABC reboot of Roseanne. In just eight nights, the show brought in $45 million in ad revenue and charged $167,159 per 30-second ad spots, this is 55% higher than the broadcast comedy average. To many people, the quick, and seemingly easy, cancellation came as a surprise for this exact reason. 18.2 million people tuned in for the premiere alone! However, though it garnered much, the media networks division of Disney only accounts for 7% of profit... This would make Roseanne account for, most likely, less than a percent, an easy asset to cut to keep the reputation Disney has built for ABC. Rumor has it, Roseanne might come back... without Roseanne. There was talk of starting up a show with the other characters, and excluding Roseanne. Problem is Roseanne owns all the rights to the characters names and stories. So even if she isn't making money directly form being in the show, she collects royalties at their mention.

Not much news this time. I've only had since late Saturday night to collect stories. From here on out I'll have from Monday to Monday to collect stories.

Spawn Reboot Story

Unlike the original Spawn movie, this reboot, staring Jamie Foxx, will not be an origin story! Todd McFarlane says he's worn out with movies taking so long for set-up. The movie will jump right in, not shedding too much light on who Spawn really is.

McFarlane described the movie as a supernatural thriller, but not a horror movie. Personally, I would have liked to see a horror movie. Spawn would fit nicely in the horror realm, in my opinion.
