School is Tuff

I am a student at Concordia University - Wisconsin. Along with being a full-time student, I have a part-time job, a tutoring job, an apartment, a (lovely) wife,  and bills. All of which take up time. It can be hard to juggle all of them at once at not drop any of them ever. From time to time one will be forgotten. In turn, the one that is forgotten will soon smack you in the face when the time comes. Sometimes correlating them all and setting up a plan to finish them takes up too much of that valued time.

Last year, I didn't do so hot in school. This put me at risk of loosing my scholarships. CUW, being a private university, is very expensive. No scholarships quite likely means no school. This semester I was given a chance to prove I deserve the scholarships. That means I have to do well above average to keep my scholarships. In order to do so I've taken less credits as previous semesters and applied tactics to help organize. One app I've found extremely helpful is the Google Calendar app.

Everything I own is somehow connected to Google. Google Calendar allows me to view all my stuff in multiple formats. The one pictured is a the schedule format. I prefer the day format. In the day format you can see where you have breaks and when you can insert other things. I've colour-coordinated it all so that I know which ones are push-able, skip-able, important, or fun. You can also use a week format or month format. Google Calendar also allows you to repeat things on certain times and days. You can set reminders, which won't go away until you click "done". You can invite others to your events and add locations. Adding locations unlocks a cool feature; Google will tell you when you have to leave to arrive on time to your event. Google will also set up things for you. If you want to start exercising, you can ask it to set up a time to do so. Google will then analyze your schedule and give you a routine you have time for. You can do this for personal time, exercise, or skill building, organization, and family time.

To save time on adding things to my calendar, I also carry a little book, in which I keep a running to-do list. Each time something new is needed to be done, I write it down. I later organize it into what needs to be done first and put it into my calendar.

As you can see, I am pretty busy. My days start around 5:00am and end around 10:00pm. This then means that I will not always have time to post... For the most part, I expect my blogs to be pretty inconsistent, as far as regular posting goes. I will do my best.

Good bless your day. Sweet Dreams!
